Fremantle Sailing Club is again to host the infamous, biennial Fremantle to Bali Rally Race that will see blue water cruisers setting off on Saturday 6 May 2017.
Sponsored by Tourism WA, for the third consecutive event, the Fremantle to Bally ocean classic race is one of Australia’s longest international ocean races and will include some of Western Australia’s finest racing yachts along with those making the journey from the East coast.
Two classes of racing sailing yachts, IRC and PHS divisions and a rally boat division will make the passage North across the Indian Ocean covering over 1400 nautical miles.
This is the 10th Bali rally race to take place and more than twenty yachts are expected to take part in WA’s longest and thrilling blue water yacht race of the season with the finish line for all boats in Benoa Harbour, Bali.
This year’s event promises to offer greater attractions for the entrants with a Spice Islands Rally; a day-by-day circumnavigation of the island of Bali and following the race will be the Beyond Bali cruise of the island with stopovers to Gill Islands and Lombok.
If the full journey is not for you, you can still be part of the event by joining those wishing them farewell in Fremantle port on the 6th. Or follow them live and online via the Yellow Brick Tracker.
